Beautiful miniature version of the legendary Isle of Lewis chess sets.
The chessboard top lifts up to reveal individual felted storage for each piece, integrated into the chessboard for easy storage or transport.
Discovered on the Isle of Lewis in 1831 after a sandbank collapsed and revealed a chest containing the chess pieces.
This is the most famous chess set in the world, the original being kept in the National Museum of Scotland. It is said to date back to the 12th century and was probably made in Norway.
Each piece is based on a highly accurate representation of the original pieces, which can be admired by the public at the National Museum of Scotland.
